Reservation and Cancellation Policies
We try our best to make our reservation process work in your favor but we do have a few rules. When you reserve your trip we commit guides and our very important staff of the company (Porters) who load and carry our equipment the day before to make sure you’ll have the best possible activities in Africa. We also turn away other customers who may want to do at the time you chose. In return we ask a few things from you:
Deposits and Payments
Our system will give an option to pay full amount or deposit of between10 & 50% to hold your reservation depending on the type of tours & the balance shall be paid 2 weeks before or on the day of your activity using our Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe (CBZ) POS machines unless prior arrangement is made with the reservation team to pay on the day of arrival.
At the time you place your tentative reservation, you and our reservationist will set an appropriate CONFIRMATION DATE which will give you time to organize your self, your family, your group and collect their payment.
To receive a full refund or to reschedule your trip – cancellations or changes must be made no later than 2 weeks before your trip date. You will be responsible for payment for whatever number you give us on your confirmation date. Your refund can only be made through the same way we received payments.
If your numbers drop or you need to cancel your trip please let us know as soon as possible. Even though we can’t give refunds within 2 weeks of your trip date we will give you vouchers to come rafting with us another time. There are no expiration dates on the voucher and you can use them for any of our Raft One adventure activities. They are also transferable, so if you don’t think you can use them yourself, you can give them to friends or even sell them.
There is no age limit.
Our guides will pay special attention to the younger guests as long as they can swim and fit in our USA made Class V Youth Life Jackets. All age requirements are variable with water levels and conditions, which can only be determined the day before the trip. We do also offer a Class I-II trips for little ones as young as 5 years old, this is below rapid number 18 to rapid number 23. Parents may do all big rapids and our staff will help and bring kids to join the rest for the last 5 or so kilometers.
Weight and height restrictions
There are no weight or height restrictions. However, everyone must be able to fit into a class V PFD (life vest). If you’re worried give us a call.
We can’t allow anyone to raft pregnant.
If you or someone in your group has health issues consult a physician and let Shockwave Adventures know in advance
Everyone who participate in any tour or rafts down the Zambezi River must sign a liability waiver. If anyone in your group is under the age of 18 the waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Alcohol and Drugs
The consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs before or during your Zambezi River rafting trip is prohibited.
Please listen to and obey your guide. Our guides are extremely well trained. They want you to have great fun but they also want everyone to be safe. Our guides reserves the right to remove any individual from any activity or white water rafting trip if their behavior in any way interferes with safety.
